just just now, i was browsing one of my friends and then got to know one of my acquaintances in ntu has passed away. i'm very shocked......and sad....

and know what? I had actually thought of him 2 days ago while i was studying in student computer room (SCR).

I suddenly remembered he was there too, studying for advanced algorithms and had strongly advised us not to take it in our final year, a year ago.

I also remembered I overheard him saying "yay, i finally understood this!.. now i'm up one level liao..".. and that amused me........

and tonight, i read about the bad news. i don't know what had happened.. but i.....

i just can't believe he is gone.............. rest in peace my friend..

I spent about 10 years living in Bukit Batok (Bukit Gombak to be exact).. and later moved to my current home at Bukit Panjang. Then, I concluded I must be a hilly person in my previous life.. (SHAN sounds like mountain and "Bukit" means hill in malay suz/zus, correct me if i'm wrong hor..).. but mabbe not so becus i had spent my unknown and forgotten babyhood in boonlay too..

Anyway, i have the urge to go out during weekends... ermm.. because it's weekend? So, on saturday, I met ngr at westmall for dinner. I think the last time I visited the mall was.. in Feb when i watched the kungfu movie. becus it seems like everyone ard us are falling ill/not feeling well (us included), we opted for chinese crusine, which is supposedly to be a little bit more healthier... The long queue outside this crystal jade influenced chinese restuarant - maysim caught my attention. did i mention that I only reached westmall at 8.30pm? So, we ended up queuing up with the crowd too. hahaha, with that crowd, i can safely assume that the food won't go that wrong bah..

Foodwise and pricewise, it's just average.. i find the duck meat hard to chew though. Hmm.. there are some northern dimsums too. The cantonese dimsum are only available before a certain time, which i've forgotten liao. It's disppointing when i know my favorite har gao (prawn dumplings?) is not available.. sighs.. after all, this is my last meal outing to mark the beginning of exams and stress and revisions... so depressing..... but nvm..

I love the bukit batok macdonalds outlet near bus interchange because this is the nearest macs around when i was in primary school? I would be so easily contented when my parents brought the very mafan me and my siblings there for dinner after visiting my waipo (grandma) or a swim at the bukit batok swimming pool.. :) Usually, I'll pass the building without much notice. But that day (night), it's like waving at me for attention..

with the new "Opens 24 hours" sign, it looks brighter and more colorful now. i can't help but to take a picture of it. after all, it's not that easy to spot a 2-storey high macdonalds in singapore lorh...



there's nothing much we can do after dinner so, I went home i took a picture of my chipped specs.. because there's something interesting about the chip..



i'm sure not many ppl realised the chipped area looks like a heart shape at some angles!

how cool!! how comforting.......

maybe i should start selling the chip-in-specs idea to the optical shops. heh heh..

After so many nights of reading the very cheem neurofibromatosis related reports, copying-pasting from those reports blindly, figuring out to play with the massive NCBI databases, and abit of typing.. I'm finally done with my bio report. *Cough coughs, wiping off blood at the corners of my mouth..*

Hmmmm.. I'm so glad that this is over...although I think I'm considered lucky if I can get a C or better grade for the report...

I can't be bothered already.. I'm just too tired... and lazy... to look at it again..

we used to have the luxury of making our own things... but alot of us think that Home Economics was a nightmare then (me included)....

sighs.. being inspired by this, i suddenly want to make my own bag... but unfortunately, I don't think time allows me to do that.. and plus.. I think I've forgotten how to use the sewing machine already..

My fever subsided today.. but my tummy was aching like it's tearing apart this morning..

after the pain has subsided a wee bit, i went to the doc and he diagnosed my illness to be food poisoning...

it's certainly better than having dengue, i consoled myself..

hais.. my 2 econs reports are still undone and next week i have 2 quizzes.. my fyp tutor asked me to read up something and meet him tmr...

how am i going to do all of them in this state?

on top of that, i havent bought the shoes to wear on wednesday..

I'm down with fever.. after a jog at a nearby park this evening..

At first, dengue didn't come to mind.. until my mom started to ask many many questions when she found out that i'm sick..

"do u feel pain in bones?" yes, i muttered..

"aiya.. die liao, u got bitten by mosquitoes issit? the park has alot of mosquitoes one.." ... oh no, actually i had some mozzies bites a few days ago....

Then i came online to find out about the symptoms of dengue:

usually starts suddenly with

- high fever not that high
- rash havent appeared.. must wait for another 3days to verify
- severe headache yes.. it could be due to lack of sleep or too much sleep
- pain behind the eyes yes.. i felt that...
- muscle and joint pain yes... this always come when i have fever.. plus.. i had a jog earlier leh..

the following symptoms are also common
- Nauseous yes... after running i felt like puking
- vomiting havent yet
- loss of appetite yes.. i suppose it's common for sick ppl in general?

just when i thought i can finally close my case for fyp on friday... my tutor suggested some changes in the project again.. and i'm going to meet him again next week.

I wonder how well does my tutor know his work.

He never gave me a definite answer when i asked him questions.... and i think i'm going mad... though i do appreciate some of his encouragements, which might be just as superficial.. i duno...

I'm going to do my econs assignment now.. hopefully can finish by tonight...

btw, i've been awake for more than 36 hours.. having slight double vision now.. but i'm really don't want to open myself to chances of procrastination. So, I must finish my assignments! - 2 more to go!
